Peugeot has been awarded two accolades at the auspicious Fleet News Awards held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, hosted by Fleet News Editor Stephen Briers.
The Peugeot 208 won the Fleet News ‘Best Small Car’ award. It was recognised for its recently re-invigorated and enhanced safety and design features.
It was also applauded for its extra equipment, best-performing engines and its industry leading low CO2capability with the 79g/km model – the best low emissions non-hybrid vehicle on the market.
As one of the company’s best-selling cars the 208 has also seen European sales rise by 10 per cent.
The French auto maker was also acknowledged for its many optimised environmental credentials with a Highly Commended award for ‘Green Fleet Manufacturer of the Year’.
Martin Gurney, Director, Fleet and Used Vehicles, Peugeot Citroën Automobiles UK Ltd, said: “Peugeot has, for a long time now, been a leading player in low emissions activity – what with its efficient product ranges and its standardising of Diesel Particulate Filters.
“Now with standard-fit Selective Catalyst Reduction technology and the recently re-invigorated 208, with the lowest CO2 of all non-hybrid cars, it is the natural choice to be the Fleet News Best Small car.”
