Renault has launched its latest immersive video – a 360-degree take on a UK Clio Cup race. Renault is one of the first brands worldwide to use this latest technology within Facebook and is designed to give fans a taste of being in the thick of an action-packed Clio Cup race.
Filmed at the Rockingham Motor Speedway, the three-minute long video is available to view on both desktop and mobile with iOS and Android users able to fully immersive themselves on the track from multiple perspectives; from the starting line, front grill, driver’s seat and aerial view. Viewers simply tilt their smartphone up, down, left and right to view the race from different perspectives around the Clio Cup race car.
Aiden White, Digital Communications Manager, Renault Group UK, said: “To watch a Clio Cup race car fly around the track is a special sight, but to see it from behind the wheel is even better. This outstanding 360-degree footage thrusts viewers into the heart of the action and lets them experience this exceptional car at race speed.”
The video is available to view on Renaultsport UK’s YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGB__mW_LHw. The Clio Cup championship is Renault UK’s premier motor sporting activity using identical bespoke racing versions based on the Clio Renaultsport 220 Trophy road car. Renault has been involved in one-make motorsport in the UK for over forty consecutive years and, as with its forerunners, the Clio Cup championship is very much the ‘way in’ to international touring car, GT and sports car competition for young aspiring drivers.
All the Renault UK Clio Cup races take place at the Dunlop British Touring Car Championship’s own high-profile events meaning huge trackside crowds and live television coverage on ITV4 for its teams, drivers and sponsor.
