The popular SEAT Leon hatchback has walked away with two impressive titles from this year’s Auto Express Driver Power customer satisfaction survey.
Celebrating two of its finest wins yet, the best-seller was both named the Best Compact Family Car and praised for its equipment in the Best In-Car Tech categories in the survey.
Auto Express collated data from more than 60,000 car owners, who were asked to fill in a survey saying which car they drive and how satisfied they are with it based on a number of criteria.
Latest in a long string of awards
Overall, the Leon was rated with a 92.89 per cent satisfaction score overall, fending off close competition from rivals like the Peugeot 308 and the Volvo V40.
Steve Fowler, Auto Express editor-in-chief, said: “The SEAT Leon is a serial Auto Express Award winner and it seems owners feel the same way.
“Not only has it beaten some strong competition to top the compact family class, thanks to a fine blend of good performance mixed with affordable running costs, the tech on offer has also been well above owners’ expectations.”
Last month, the Leon was also named the Best Family Car twice running at the Carbuyer Best Car Awards, further reinforcing its popularity with drivers and critics alike.
Now in their fourth year, the website’s Best Car Awards are uniquely based on the top 20 questions that buyers ask about cars, and then given a rating out of five based on how they do.
In total, the Leon garnered a rating of 4.8 out of 5, meaning that it was always going to be in the running for top honours in which’s potentially the most hotly-contested category.
‘Substance to back up its style’
Commenting on the Auto Express haul, SEAT UK’s director, Richard Harrison, said, “We’ve won ‘Best Compact Family Car’ from Auto Express two years in a row, so we were hoping Leon would be in with a good chance.
“It’s always a pleasure to win awards, but they’re just that little bit sweeter when it’s real owners who vote your cars to be the best. Clearly, our top-seller has the substance to back up its style and I’m delighted that those who live with the Leon every day love it as much as they do.”
Available to buy now, pricing for the Leon range starts from £15,815 for the entry-level hatchback, while the Leon X-PERIENCE and ST Cupra 280 are priced from £24,385 and £28,505 respectively.
