Hyundai i10 named Training Car of the Year

The Hyundai i10 could be the best car to learn to drive in after it was named Training Car of the Year 2015 by the Driving Instructors Association.

Beating a number of its closest competitors from across the market to claim the prestigious title, the Hyundai i10 thoroughly impressed with its high quality interior, generous kit and affordability.

Carly Brookfield, chief executive of the DIA, said: “Congratulations to Hyundai for winning the Top Car: Training Car of the Year 2015.

“As professional drivers, the car chosen is of vital importance to their work – not just for driving but also as a business asset.”

Popular with instructors, learners and buyers!

Since its release in 2013, the current-generation i10 has proven popular with both private buyers and driving instructors, so much so that it was even chosen by Made in Chelsea regular Jamie Laing for his lessons.

Tony Whitehorn, Hyundai UK’s president and CEO, said: “Thanks to its low running costs, it’s no surprise that the i10 is so popular among driving instructors.

“Combined with its low insurance rating, i10 also makes an incredibly affordable first car once the driving test has been passed!”

Simon Miller, editor of Driving Instructor magazine commented: “Although this may be a surprising choice to some, the excellent value of the Hyundai, coupled with its handling and ride, makes it a sensible buy from a business perspective.”

Having received a facelift in January this year, the i10 now comes better equipped than ever, with a range of new kit that includes upgraded alloy wheels, rear parking sensors and climate control.

Since its release, it’s also picked up more than ten awards for its outstanding performance, having recently been crowned Best City Car by What Car? magazine for the second year in a row.

New Premium SE trim

Hyundai also recently announced the addition of a new Premium SE trim level to the i10 range, which further boosts its appeal to customers in the UK looking for extra luxury.

Featuring equipment usually reserved solely for cars in segments above it, the new Premium SE comes with heated seats, a heated steering wheel and a panoramic sunroof in addition to various other upgrades.

The Hyundai i10 range is available to buy now from Perrys Hyundai dealership, with prices for the range starting from just £8,595 for the entry-level trim, while the new Premium SE model is priced from £11,995.
