Behind-the-scenes pictures from the latest James Bond film SPECTRE have surfaced online, offering a first look at the Jaguar C-X75 in action.
Reports first surfaced late last year that the C-X75 hypercar would have a role as the car driven by the film’s villain, which Jaguar officially confirmed at the start of this month.
According to reports, the C-X75 swept into Rome last Wednesday, where it took part in the filming of a spectacular high-octane chase scene along the banks of the river Tiber.
The photos show the metallic orange supercar racing up the sides of a steep river embankment, filmed by camera crews using specially-modified speedboats and 4×4 buggies.
Along with the C-X75, the pictures also show Bond’s latest ride, the exclusive Aston Martin DB10, parked up alongside the Jaguar supercar while the crew takes a break from filming.
Slightly different than Jaguar’s original concept model, the SPECTRE version of the C-X75 is powered by a 500bhp supercharged V8, instead of the complicated 850bhp hybrid powertrain of the original.
Regardless, it’s still a powerful beast and the chase will reportedly be one of the key scenes of the film, where Daniel Craig’s 007 chases the villain through some of Rome’s most picturesque locations.
Craig’s fourth outing as the world’s most famous spy will see him investigate SPECTRE, the sinister organisations which has been a mainstay of Bond lore since appearing in 1961’s Thunderball.
Jaguar Land Rover also announced that SPECTRE will also feature appearances from the Range Rover Sport SVR, plus the specially-modified Land Rover Defender Big Foot.
Filming in Austria already wrapped
Running on massive 37-inch tyres, custom suspension and bespoke underbody protection, the Defender Big Foot models have reportedly already wrapped filming alongside the SVR in Austria.
The new film will mark the Land Rover Defender’s second appearance in a Bond film, after modified Defenders featured in the opening scenes to 007’s previous outing Skyfall.
Jaguar also has a long history of supplying cars for the movies, after the XJ8 and XJR appeared in the 2006 version of Casino Royale, and Die Another Day starred the now-famous machine gun-equipped XKR.
SPECTRE is due for release in November this year, while both Jaguar and Land Rover’s full range of cars is available to buy from Perrys dealerships now.
