The prices and specification line-up for the next-generation Nissan X-Trail has been confirmed for the UK. The large crossover SUV will arrive in showrooms from 17th July 2014, priced from £22,995.
Nissan’s new X-Trail is the latest addition to the manufacturer’s in-demand crossover range. It follows the launch of the new Qashqai earlier this year and the updated Nissan Juke which launches this June.
The new Nissan X-Trail’s starting price is actually £2,600 less than its predecessor but is also more accessible than ever before. It features Nissan’s latest distinct design language, a host of luxury kit available and a new frugal diesel engine.
A five-seater model as standard, the new X-Trail can be specified with seven seats in total for an extra £700 on the purchase price.
From launch there are four trim levels available for the new X-Trail – starting with ‘Visia’ and followed by ‘Acenta’, ‘n-tec’ and ‘Tekna’.
All models in the X-Trail range use a 1.6-litre dCi diesel engine producing 129bhp. A manual gearbox and a front-wheel drive powertrain are used as standard for the new X-Trail.
When specifying a trim level above Visia, however, the SUV can be specified with four-wheel drive and a XTRONIC automatic gearbox. Four-wheel drive models also utilise Nissan’s ALL MODE 4×4 i-system to deliver more control driving on loose grip conditions.
In its standard manual and front-wheel drive guise, the new X-Trail returns a combined fuel economy of 57.6mpg and CO2 emissions of just 129g/km.
Standard equipment on Visia-trim X-Trail models includes 17-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, air conditioning and Bluetooth connectivity.
Move up to the Acenta trim, priced from £24,795, and the new X-Trail features privacy glass, front and rear parking sensors, a leather steering wheel and dual zone climate control.
Both the Visia and Acenta trim versions of the X-Trail can be specified with an optional ‘Smart Vision Pack’, which costs £495 for the Visia trim or £450 for the Acenta model. With either model the additions from the pack includes Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition and Forward Emergency Braking.
This kit included in the Smart Vision Pack is standard in the next trim level up in the X-Trail range, the n-tec version. The new X-Trail n-tec is priced from £27,295. With this trim, customers also get 19-inch alloy wheels, roof rails and the NissanConnect onboard computer supporting media and safety features.
Additional kit from the range-topping Tekna trim includes LED headlamps, heated leather seats and a Blind Spot Warning detector. New Nissan X-Trail Tekna models are priced from £29,295.
