Best used MPVs

Modern MPVs, which can come in either five or seven-seater form, are fantastically practical cars. Not only are they spacious but they also often come with a lot of standard equipment, and lots of cubby holes within the cabin.

Here at Perrys you can find a large selection of high quality used MPV models for incredibly low prices. Even if your budget is as low as say around £8,000 there are plenty of decent used MPVs available at your nearest local Perrys Dealerships. The age of these used MPVs also come in at around just two to six years on Perrys Used Cars search.

So here’s our guide to some of the best used MPVs available at Perrys now.

Vauxhall Meriva

Price estimate – £7,995

One of the more compact examples of an MPV, the latest generation Vauxhall Meriva is available in the used market for a very low price.

It represents fantastic value money due to its solid engine range and clever seating arrangement. Smart seat features is something Vauxhall are famed for and it is certainly evident in the Meriva.

The car’s rear hinged doors, dubbed Flexdoors, are probably the Meriva’s most noticeable feature however. These improve access to the rear seats, particularly for children or elderly relatives, or even for fitting baby seats.

The Meriva also has a boot capacity of 400 litres, which can be increased to a 1,500 litre load space when all the seats are folded.

Kia Carens

Price estimate – £6,990

While a new generation Kia Carens was launched earlier this year, the previous example is still a very useful family car in its own right.

A cheap, used Kia Carens, with its sizeable seven-seater cabin and easy driving characteristics makes it excellent value for money. There are also five-seater examples of the Kia Carens available within the used market.

Equipment levels are plentiful, with features including air conditioning, a CD/radio player, full electric windows and alloy wheels provided as standard.

There are many handy storage compartments in the cabin of the Carens, including a large central cubby hole and large door pockets too.

Ford C-Max

Price estimate – £6,000

The Focus-based Ford C-Max has long been highly rated by many in the UK family car market due to its superb reliable build and impressive drive.

An opportunity for a family motorist to own one of these MPVs for relatively little cash is one that should hardly be missed.

Even older examples of the C-Max are amongst the most spacious and practical MPVs around. The boot can hold an impressive 550 litres even without folding the rear seats.

There are numerous trim levels available in the used market as well. Many examples of the C-Max come well equipped, with standard features including air conditioning, a CD/radio player and front electric windows.

Citroen C4 Grand Picasso

Price estimate – £6,500

Citroen recently released a new C4 Picasso MPV, with a Grand Picasso update on the way. However, older used examples of the Citroen C4 Grand Picasso still represent a cheap and sound purchase for family motoring.

Neatly styled both outside and inside, and sporting a highly practical interior for all the family, the Grand C4 Picasso is still a real winner.

The boot can hold 576 litres without the rear seats folded. The rear seats themselves can be folded flat with little time or effort required. The cabin is highly accommodating and user-friendly. Equipment levels across the Grand C4 Picasso’s many trims are enjoyable as well.

On many specifications of used C4 Grand Picassos you can get cruise control, electric windows, air conditioning and a CD/radio player as standard.

Seat Altea

Price estimate – £4,300

The latest generation Seat Altea has been around the UK market for a while, but it remains a distinct and enjoyable choice for a family MPV.

Heavily influenced by the Seat Leon, the Altea makes use of its compact dimensions to look much more appealing than many of the boxy examples of the five or seven-seat MPV seen on the road.

The Altea is also relatively cheap to run with a collection of engines delivering low insurance ratings and an Ecomotive model offering very low CO2 emissions.

The cabin is well made and comfortable and the boot can hold at least 409 litres worth of luggage. Standard equipment for the Seat Altea includes a CD/radio player, front electric windows and heated mirrors.
