The Sandero Stepway will sit alongside the larger Duster SUV and the Sandero supermini which the Stepway is based upon.
The standard Dacia Sandero is already turning heads as it will become the cheapest new car of all to go on sale in the UK. The five-door Sandero Stepway meanwhile is a bulkier mini-SUV crossover conversion of the car which looks to challenge similar models like the Mitsubishi ASX or the Vauxhall Mokka.
The Dacia Sandero Stepway will be offered at considerably cheaper pricing than its rivals, with specifications ranging from just £7,995 to £10,795.
The Stepway, which inserts bulkier front and rear bodywork, larger wheelarches and roof bars to the Sandero, also has a higher ride height in comparison to the supermini.
It will be sold in two specifications, called Ambiance and Laureate. Standard equipment includes fog lights and front electric windows while higher-end models add luxury kit including 16″ alloy wheels, Bluetooth and a CD/Radio player.
The Dacia Sandero Stepway also offers two engines to choose from, both of which deliver 89bhp. The options are a 0.9-litre TCe petrol unit and a 1.5-litre dCi diesel, the latter of which offers more torque and superior efficient running.
With the petrol engine in use the Sandero Stepway returns an official combined fuel economy of 52.3mpg, while CO2 emissions are recorded at 125g/km. Meanwhile the diesel-powered Stepway returns 70.6mpg on the same combined cycle and CO2 emissions are reduced to 105g/km.
The Dacia Sandero Stepway will be available to order from the start of 2013 at Perrys Dacia Dealership located in Aylesbury.
