The Dacia Duster has already earned a reputation for being a threatening competitor in the SUV segment as its extremely low price tag has set a new benchmark in the automotive industry.
The Renault associated brand has further enforced it’s fearful reputation by winning three accolades at this year’s Scottish Car of the Year awards.
Even though the Dacia Duster has not yet hit showrooms, it has earned itself the ‘Scottish SUV of the Year, ‘Scottish Budget Car of the Year’ and the overall ‘Scottish Car of the Year’ award.
The Duster SUV offers a compact crossover exterior design, which keeps it up-to-date with current competitors such as the Nissan Juke.
As well as offering SUV credentials and a sub £9,000 price tag, the Dacia Duster also features a range of efficient engines- including an 85bhp and 110bhp 1.5-litre diesel variants – the latter returning over 50mpg.
Thierry Sybord, Managing Director, Renault UK, said: “We’ve watched our European neighbours sell tens of thousands of Dacias to happy customers over the last few years and are now delighted to be bringing the brand and its “shockingly affordable” models to our shores.”
The Dacia Duster is set to offer a whole new type of SUV to the car market as it offers the off-road capabilities of a grizzly SUV with the low price tag of a supermini.
The new Dacia Duster is set to enter showrooms in January 2013, with orders open now.
Dacia Duster prices start from £8,995.
Dacia vehicles are available from Perrys Aylesbury dealership.
