Jaguar unleashed the covers from its latest model this month, as the British brand finally revealed the all-new F-Type to the wider public.
The design on Jaguar’s brand new sports car, a two-seater performance-focused convertible, has been met with plenty of positive reception and has led the motoring magazine AutoWeek to praise its design and performance potential.
The Digital Editor for AutoWeek, Andrew Stoy, described the F-Type as “Sleek, sexy and powerful” and as “a new halo for Jaguar”.
He added: “Put the top down, fire up the engine – especially the supercharged 5.0-litre V8 – and all suddenly becomes right with the world. It’s a car to covet for anyone with a love of sports cars”.[YouTube:CtdiEKbDlJ8]
The Jaguar F-Type will initially be sold exclusively as a softop convertible model, with a hardtop coupe expected to follow at least a few months after the car’s launch.
Three specifications of the F-Type will go on sale; the standard model will use a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 petrol engine with 335bhp. The mid-range F-Type S model has a similar engine but with its output increased to 375bhp.
The top of the range F-Type will boast a 488bhp supercharged V8 engine, and a 0-60mph sprint time of 4.2 seconds, while the top speed is limited to 186mph.
The Jaguar F-Type will go on sale during summer 2013, with prices starting from £58,500. UK motorists will be able to order the new sports car from Perrys Jaguar Dealership located in Huddersfield.
