The Italian-made silk accessories were designed by Alfa Romeo ambassadors, including Dragon’s Den star Peter Jones, Chris Tomlinson and the fashion label PPQ.
The sale of these pocket squares are part of a new campaign launched by Alfa Romeo to create more aid for Heart Research UK, which researches prevention, treatments and cures for heart disease.
The campaign to support a heart charity can also be seen as a way for Alfa Romeo to tie in with the company’s own official motto: “Without heart we would be mere machines”.
According to Alfa Romeo, pocket squares have enjoyed a resurgence in popularity thanks in part to their appearance in TV shows like Mad Men and on British style icons such as actors Benedict Cumberbatch and Matt Smith, and musician Tinie Tempah.
Alfa Romeo’s own pocket squares are handmade in Italy using 100 per cent Italian silk. Alfa Romeo says each is designed by some influential figures in the world of sport, business and fashion.
Just 6,000 of the limited edition pocket squares are available to buy, and they can be found on Alfa Romeo’s official website, priced at £14.99 each.
September 2012 will also mark a dedicated month of fundraising by Alfa Romeo towards its current campaign, with nationwide support across the company’s dealer network.
Motorists interested in buying an Alfa Romeo car can find the full range at Perrys Alfa Romeo Dealership in Amersham.
