The Vauxhall Ampera deliveries officially begin in June but Perrys Motors has already handed over the keys to the first of its Ampera cars this week.
The premium five-door hatchback is expected to be a big hit with businesses in the UK and that has proved to be the case so far with Energy Solutions the first company to buy an Ampera from Perrys Vauxhall of Canterbury.
Paul Holland, the MD of Energy Solutions said “The Ampera was the ideal vehicle to add to our fleet of cars.
“Energy Solutions offers electric vehicle charging points and cables in addition to solar products and hybrid power products. Having an EV was the natural choice and Perry’s made the purchase straight forward and hassle free.”
The Vauxhall Ampera is an extended-range electric vehicle, meaning it can travel on purely electric power for up to 40 miles after being charged via an electric charging socket.
Once the charge runs low, the work is not finished for Energy Solutions. A petrol engine then kicks in to recharge the battery and power the car for a further 310 miles.
Even in petrol-electric mode the car delivers upwards of 230mpg on the combined cycle and CO2 emissions of 27g/km. In comparison, the greenest Ford Focus delivers three times that figure with the lowest emissions of 87g/km.
The Vauxhall Ampera, priced from £32,000 after the inclusion of the government’s plug-in car grant, comes with a premium range of equipment as standard – just take a look at the list here to see what the four-seat model comes equipped with.
The Vauxhall Ampera is available now at Perrys Vauxhall of Canterbury, which can be found on Island Road, Sturry in Kent.
