Cook has a long track record for creating fantastical car art and has chosen the Chevrolet Spark as his next venture; devising a picture by driving remote control cars through paint and creating a picture with the resulting path of the car’s wheels.
In what he is calling the ‘Chevrolet SpART’, Ian will be presenting his work at the SMMT HQ on May 16th to his social media followers and invited media guests, alongside an art workshop of which he will be hosting.
The Spark city car is Chevrolet’s smallest car in its range and it offers a stylish sporty appeal, sub-120g/km CO2 emissions from a frugal 1.0-litre petrol engine and a low price of £8,475. These qualities have made it popular amongst younger drivers.
Cook’s SpART design echoes the same sporty appeal of the Spark but with added arty edge and colourful flair, yet his design still remains true to the Spark’s compact shape and trademark blue paintjob.
Ian has been working with Chevrolet and its applied arts competition Young? Creative? Chevrolet? for some time.
“I’m delighted that Ian has chosen to work with Chevrolet on this project. His latest venture is sure to show both Ian and Chevrolet in a completely new light,” said Chevrolet UK managing director, Mark Terry.
Chevrolet vehicles are available from Perry’s Dover and Rotherham dealerships.
