In just 41 days the large 4×4 has travelled across Europe, through India and the dense jungle terrain of Assam and across Thailand.
The incredible journey covers some of the world’s most inhospitable terrain and is designed to mirror the original record-breaking land journey, which also involved a Land Rover travelling 18,000 miles from England to Singapore in six months in 1955.
The modern day journey is designed to support Land Rover’s humanitarian projects in China and to raise £1m for a water sanitation project in Uganda.
It will take less than 50 days after the Discovery 4 reached China in just 41 – far fewer than the original journey.
It also demonstrates the go-anywhere ability and reliability of the Land Rover Discovery 4, he consummate off roader used worldwide by aid charities, military and emergency services in challenging conditions.
The Land Rover Discovery 4 is on sale in the UK now in three trim levels; GS, XS and HSE. Land Rover Discovery 4 prices start from £38,020 for entry-level versions.
Capable of seating seven, the Land Rover Discovery 4 comes with a 3.0-litre, 255bhp diesel engine and four-wheel drive as standard.
Standard equipment includes automatic climate control, DAB radio, Bluetooth, and Land Rover’s famous Terrain Response system.
The system is designed to adapt the 4×4 setup to cope with differing terrain and conditions and provide extra grip and traction off-road.
The vast Land Rover Discovery 4 is also available in commercial variation with the rear of the car forming a van-like load compartment.
The new Land Rover Discovery 4 is available now from Copley Land Rover of Halifax and Rocar Moores Land Rover of Huddersfield.
