Land Rover thrives as cold weather hits UK

Land Rover has provided winter driving training and 4×4 SUVs to services across the country to cope with the winter weather.

Red Cross teams responding to emergency calls are using a fleet of Land Rover Defender 4x4s, the original Land Rover and the most rugged in the range.

Meanwhile, other emergency services such as mountain rescue, ambulance and breakdown services such as the AA have also called upon Land Rover vehicles to cope with treacherous conditions.

Land Rover cars, famed for their 4×4 go-anywhere ability, use an industry-leading Terrain Response system designed to improve grip and traction in winter weather and on uneven terrain.

Out of the Land Rover line up, the Land Rover Defender is the most dedicated off-road vehicle. Its strong engines, raised ground height and durability ensure it is one of the best off-road cars on sale today.

Priced from a little over £20,000, the Land Rover Defender is so reliable on difficult terrain Land Rover even supplies the army with converted models for use in military situations.

As winter weather covers most of the UK, Land Rover has also released a video demonstrating tips on winter driving (see below) showing how to drive in winter conditions.

The Land Rover range covers rugged off-roaders of varying sizes and specification in the UK. The new Land Rover Defender, Land Rover Freelander and Land Rover Discovery make up the Land Rover range.

Meanwhile, the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and new Range Rover Evoque make up the three-strong luxury Range Rover line up.
