This week we were offered the chance to drive three of Vauxhall’s exciting new cars – a chance we jumped at.
From the vast, comfortable Vauxhall Zafira Tourer to the impressively sporty Vauxhall Astra GTC. We were impressed with the cars.
While the two cars mentioned above will boost sales and the desirability of the Vauxhall brand, the car that really caught our attention was the stunning Vauxhall Corsa VXR.
Performance, power and driving thrills were all present in the Nurburgring edition we drove and brings Vauxhall hot hatch range back up to the top of the pile.
Below are a few images from the day and some information on the cars we drove.
Vauxhall Zafira Tourer
The Zafira Tourer is a family people carrier that offers loads of storage space (1,860-litres) for things likes bikes and other equipment. Perfect if you’re looking for a car that can facilitate weekends away or school runs.
Other family qualities include a nice panoramic roof and passenger seats that turn into a table if needed. Prices for the Zafira Tourer start from £21,000.
Vauxhall Astra GTC
The Astra GTC isn’t exactly a performance ‘hot hatch’, but is more of a ‘warm hatch’.
It does however offer sporty features like a nice interior, slick exterior design and an impressive top speed of 135mph.
The GTC is essentially a car for people who want the convenience of the Astra hatchback with a little extra street credit in terms of power and style.
Prices for the Vauxhall Astra GTC start from £18,495.
Vauxhall Corsa VXR
The Corsa VXR packs a bit more of a punch than the GTC by delivering up to 280hp and a top speed of 155mph from a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine.
It also delivers quite a stylish package with exterior features like front and rear bumpers, extended side skirts and twin exhaust pipes.
The interior matches the exteriors sporty style with performance seats and a flat bottomed steering wheel. This includes features like sculpted front and rear bumpers, two exhaust pipes and extended side skirts.
Prices for the Vauxhall VXR have not yet been announced.
