Used Seat Ibiza Cupra Bocanegra – a residual value star?

The Seat Ibiza Cupra Bocanegra is usually associated with the new car market, as it is a stylish performance model. However, latest sales figures reveal that it is just as popular in the used car market.

The Ibiza Cupra Bocanegra is a performance version of the popular Ibiza supermini and its used car figures show the demand for the sporty model is on the up.

The Cupra Bocanegra model is a tribute to the original 1975 1200 Sport Bocanegra. It features exterior design features like a central honeycomb front grille, black and white contrasting paint job, rear spoiler, dark tinted glass sun roof and 17″ alloy wheels.

The sporty trend continues to its interior as it features the likes of sport seats with unique fabric upholstery. In terms of being a performance car the Cupra Bocanegra offers a supercharged 1.4TSI which produces 178hp.

As the Cupra Bocanegra is quite a specific model in terms of style and appeal you may expect its resale value to diminish drastically, but that’s not the case.

For example, a new Ibiza Cupra Bocanegra costs £18,655. But current CAP data suggests that a 12-month-old Ibiza Cupra Bocanegra with around 10,000 miles to its name is still retailing for more than 77% of its showroom price. Which means you could sell it for around £14,000.

As well as the popularity of the entry level Ibiza model being a contributing factor to the Cupra Bocanegra used car sales, the increase in the ‘small car’ market share means that more people are looking for smaller and more affordable cars – making used Seat Ibiza models more popular than ever.

Seat vehicles are available from Perry’s Aylesbury dealership.
