New 2012 Fiat Panda focuses on space

The Fiat Panda is a popular small car well known for its small city car size, but spacious interior courtesy of a boxier rear end.

The model, which has been seen on UK roads for over 20 years, it being completely reinvented for a 2012 launch.

The third generation Panda keeps the same exterior designs as previous models, but comes with a more rounded, modern style. As a result of its compact body style, the new Fiat will prove useful when squeezing in tight parking spaces and manoeuvring round tricky corners.

Its economical diesel engine range with stop/start technology returns mileage of over 70mpg which means low emissions, low tax and low fuel costs and the car is expected to make use of the TwinAir petrol engines which first appeared on the Fiat 500 and deliver free UK road tax.

However, unlike other city cars, the 2012 Fiat Panda is designed to handle more luggage for trips and offer more headroom than rival models.

Inside the new third generation Panda there is more space than ever with an increase in length, width and height.

This means there is greater space for the driver and passengers. It also allows for greater accessibility, which is aided by a five door option with the Panda.

These improvements also allow 225-litres of space in the boot, which can increase to a massive 870 with the rear seat backrest folded down.

The new Fiat Panda is out in 2012. Fiat vehicles are available from Perry’s Portsmouth, Amersham and Aylesbury dealerships.
