Kia wins top Used Car Scheme award

The Auto Express Used Car Awards 2011 named Kia’s official Used Car Scheme as the best in the UK because of the flexibility and peace of mind it gives to used car buyers.

Judges of the awards, one of the biggest used car titles in the UK, praised Kia’s seven-year (or 100,000) warranty because it can be passed on to a new owner if the car is sold within the first seven years.

If this sale occurs in the first 18 months, the warranty is set back to new, meaning a warranty could last as long as eight and a half years for a new Kia car.

This means used Kia buyers would be covered by the manufacturer warranty. However, Auto Express judges also highlighted the cooling off period offered with Kia cars.

They said: “You get 60 days or 1,000 miles in which to change your mind. Add to this two years of breakdown cover, seven days’ free drive-away insurance and a useful online car locator, and you have a cracking approved scheme.”

All cars on the Kia Approved Used Car Scheme come with a full vehicle inspection and service history, says the brand, which has launched its new Kia Picanto and new Kia Rio this month in the UK.

John Hargreaves, Head of Vehicle Remarketing, Kia Motors (UK) Limited said: “When we launched our Approved Used Car Scheme we set out to ensure it really did represent the best possible deal for customers so we’re obviously very proud that this been recognised by Auto Express with this award.”

The Kia Approved Used Car Scheme is available from local Kia dealerships across the UK.
