Based on the same colour themes as the Mazda MX-5 Sport Black, itself based on the Mazda MX-5 GT race car, the Mazda2 Black features more equipment than standard models.
Based on the five-door Mazda2 supermini, the Mazda2 Black features a black vinyl roof and matching black 16" alloy wheels.
A choice of three body colours includes green metallic, white or red. The red version costs £12,395, but metallic options are slightly more expensive at £12,815.
Front fog lights, tinted rear windows and a refresh to the rear bumper to give the back end a sportier look.
Inside, the changes continue with a Sports specification interior complete with climate control air conditioning and a sound system with Bluetooth connectivity.
Limited edition floor mats, Black Edition badging and an interior plaque with a unique number on complete the specification editions.
Under the bonnet, a 1.3-litre Tamura engine delivers 84ps. Mazda will sell only 618 of the new Mazda2 Black Limited Edition in the UK.
It will go on sale in the UK from 6 August, when Mazda will launch a test drive week for its two new Black models.
Perrys dealerships such as Perrys Mazda in Blackburn will be offered the chance to drive Mazda’s full range, with the first service free when a car is bought.
