Priced from £11,600 for the TwinAir and £12,700 for the high-spec TwinAir Plus, the new Fiat 500 TwinAir range is on sale now in the UK in 500 and convertible 500C iterations.
Previously, the TwinAir name applied only to the groundbreaking two-cylinder petrol engine used in the 500, but Fiat has now decided to create a range with exclusive colours, equipment and design.
The Fiat 500 TwinAir will looks distinctly different from the standard Fiat 500 with a new range of ‘vibrant’ colours available on the range.
There are also 15" black alloy wheels, chrome exhaust pipes and a new spoiler to give the car a more upmarket feel, while inside sports seats and metal effect on the dashboard are all fitted as standard.
A more exclusive Fiat 500 TwinAir Plus model completes the range and adds an exclusive ‘Midnight Black’ colour to the palette.
Other equipment includes 16" alloy wheels, climate control, Blue&Me media system, tinted windows and body coloured door mirrors.
Inside, a sport leather steering wheel and leather gear knob complete the upgrade over the TwinAir model.
Underneath both specifications lies the new 0.9-litre Fiat TwinAir petrol engine. Named the International Engine of the Year, the remarkable powerplant is the smallest petrol engine on the mass market.
As a result, it delivers 95g/km of CO2 emissions, the measure used to determine both Vehicle Excise Duty (more commonly known as road tax) and the London congestion charge.
The Fiat 500 TwinAir range is one of few petrol engines to qualify for zero payments on both, making it one of the cheapest cars to run on the roads today.
"TwinAir and TwinAir Plus will become the best offer for Fiat 500 customers," says Elena Bernardelli, marketing director, Fiat Group Automobiles UK.
"The combination of lively performance, high equipment levels, great value for money and undoubted green credentials make the TwinAir range a wonderful proposition for Fiat 500 lovers everywhere."
