The Citroen DS4 is a five-door hatchback with a unique raised ride height and a sportier, coupe-like shape.
Designed as a rival to the likes of the Ford Focus and Alfa Romeo Giulietta, the Citroen DS4 shares the DS Line name with the Citroen DS3 supermini, which was released last year.
The DS Line is designed to be more fashionable and upmarket than standard Citroen models and this is evident in the higher quality plastics and upholstery used inside the DS4.
It also comes with a longer equipment list than the C4 it is loosely based on and its revamped exterior has already led to it taking a ‘Most Beautiful Car’ award at the International Automobile Festival ahead of numerous supercars.
The car will appear ‘in the metal’ in the UK for the first time on 30 June, just four days before it officially goes on sale in the UK.
The Citroen DS4 will be available to drive as part of Goodwood’s traditional ‘Moving Motor Show’, giving customers the chance to see the DS4 for themselves.
Priced from £23,000, the Citroen DS4 engine choices include a three 1.6-litre petrol engine offering various power outputs and two diesel engines comprising a 1.6- and a 2.0-litre unit.
The best performing models deliver CO2 emissions of 134g/km, but all engines manage to stay below the 150g/km mark.
Citroen will use the same three specification levels as the DS3 in its latest DS Line model. This means DSign, Dstyle and range-topping DSport will all be offered.
Expect plenty of gadgets with all, including alloy wheels, customisable colour options and other extras such as a high-spec sound system, cruise control and air con.
The Citroen DS4 will go on sale at Citroen dealerships from the beginning of July.
