Singer/songwriter and Vauxhall brand ambassador Katie Melua begins her European concert tour soon.
Her tour will then hit the UK with dates across the country this April and May. Named after her current album "The House", the tour takes the artist to 51 European cities, with 13 locations in the UK, starting in Sheffield (22nd April), including concerts in Cardiff (1st May), London (5th May) and Glasgow (9th May).
To celebrate the start of the tour, Vauxhall is offering the song "Walk Lightly on the World" as a free download for Katie Melua fans. The MP3 file can now be downloaded at the Vauxhall website and the Facebook page.
The stylish and innovative Vauxhall Ampera, which goes on sale at the start of 2012, will accompany Katie Melua on her tour. Concert goers can look forward to an exciting pre-concert experience, as they will be able to see the real world electric vehicle up close at the gigs.
Vauxhall also has a number of surprises in store; including a free unique DVD and the possibility to download pictures of both Katie and the Ampera through Bluetooth.
Peter Hope, Vauxhall’s Marketing Director, comments: "We are thrilled to be working with Katie. Vauxhall is all about being British, forward thinking and energetic, and we think Katie embodies these values perfectly. In addition, we are passionate about consistent environmental awareness and social responsibility; as a subject very close to Katie’s heart, it only makes the partnership more fitting."
"I like the way Vauxhall addresses topics like environmental protection and sustainability and I feel very comfortable with the partnership; it’s a great fit. I already had the chance to drive the Ampera, and I was really impressed with it," says the singer.
Costing just £28,995, the Vauxhall Ampera will be the first Extended-Range Electric Vehicle to hit UK roads and will give customers the unrivalled potential of emissions-free motoring combined with the real-world usability offered by its range-extender generator, allowing a total range of over 350 miles. In addition, British buyers of the four-seat, five-door E-REV will benefit from zero VED, TLF congestion charge exemption and company car tax of just five per cent.
Internationally respected as an advocate for environmental protection and charitable activities, Katie Melua has firmly established herself among the ranks of international music stars with her unique and unmistakable style.
