Red Nose Day is in full swing and there are plenty of activities going on in our various dealerships across the country.
The fund-raising drive began as early as last week, when an intrepid team from Perrys Preston cycled from the Burnley dealership back the Perrys Vauxhall in Preston.
The 20-mile bike ride has helped to add £900 to the coffers raised so far by the dealership.
Peter Lambert, General Manager at Perrys Preston commented on the fundraising: "With Red Nose Day being such a worthy cause, we wanted to start the fundraising early to ensure we raised as much money as possible. With the generosity of our customers and dedication from our staff we have so far raised over £900!"
Yesterday, the same dealership filled a Kia Venga with red noses and asked people to guess the number inside. Prizes included a Sat Nav, Free Valet or a tour behind the scenes at the Lancashire Evening Post.
Perrys’ Kia dealerships are also in the running to win £1,000 to donate to Red Nose Day as part of a ‘Best Dressed Window’ competition held by the manufacturer for its dealer network.
Across the Pennines in Yorkshire, both Perrys in Barnsley and Perrys in Rotherham have asked their respective football teams – Barnsley FC and Rotherham United – to visit the dealerships and take part in a sponsored penalty short out.
The Barnsley event starts at the Barugh Green dealership between 1pm and 3pm on Sunday, while the Rotherham shoot out took place last Sunday.
Hungry penalty-takers were also able to buy a freshly baked cake at the Rotherham dealership to raise more funds.
Darren Ardron, Regional Manager at Perrys commented; "With Red Nose Day being such a worthy cause we wanted to start our fund raising as early as possible.
"I would personally like to thank Rotherham United for their help and support, as well as everyone who donated and took part in our fundraising. We are delighted to have so far raised £200 for Comic Relief."
Not content with this, the dealership in Rotherham took part in a charity car wash to bolster the amount raised.
The staff at Perrys dealerships will be continuing their fundraising efforts on Red Nose Day itself (18th of March) by donning their favourite red clothing in aid of the charity.
Red Nose Day launched in 1988 and has taken place every two years ever since. By simply doing something funny for money you could be helping countless lives across The UK and Africa.

Finally, we’ve had this image through from Perrys in Barnsley, who dressed in red to support the big day. Great work!
