The C_42 is an exhibition celebrating Citroen’s history and current model range and the ‘centre stage’ will be the five-door coupe.
The Citroen DS4 is a hatchback with a higher stance than the standard Citroen C4. It also boasts new styling, most noticeably in the chrome-highlighted redesigned two-bar grille, daytime running lights, 19" alloy wheels and coupe-like roofline.
Inside, higher class materials on the upholstery and chrome highlights to the dials as well as aluminium foot pedals and panoramic windscreen.
Under the bonnet, the DS4 will be equipped with a 110bhp 1.6-litre diesel engine with e-HDI start-stop technology to improve fuel consumption. A larger 2.0-litre engine will also be available.
They will be joined by three petrol engines in the form of a 120bhp 1.6-litre, 155bhp 1.6-litre turbocharged engine and a 200bhp petrol option.
Designed as a competitor for the range-topping Ford Focus Titanium models, the Citroen DS4 will arrive in the UK later in 2011.
It follows the Citroen DS3 supermini in the relaunched DS Line and a larger Citroen DS5 will be unveiled next year. Citroen has also hinted it could be releasing a drop-top version of the DS3 in future, although no plans have been confirmed so far.
The C_42 exhibition will also include the GQbyCitroen, the stylish ‘gentleman’s car’ designed in conjunction with men’s magazine GQ.
Other models to appear at the event include the Citroen’s newest rally car, the DS3 WRC World Rally Championship contender based on the supermini of the same name.
The exhibition will also showcase Citroen TV adverts, toys, marketing materials and memorabilia from the French marque’s past.
