Urban appeal for new Vauxhall Corsa

It is the fifth year in a row Vauxhall has chosen to sponsor the competition, but this year it coincides with the launch of the new Vauxhall Corsa.

The Corsa has been updated with a new front end and vibrant exterior colours to appeal to a young, urban buyer. These colours include lime, orange, ‘Guacamole’, melon and ‘Pepperdust’.

As part of the Street Style campaign to promote the three- or five-door small car, one of the UK’s best-selling models, Vauxhall has focused on urban events.

These include a Facebook campaign based around graffiti and graphics and the sponsorship of the Vauxhall Beatbox Championships.

The competition aims to find the most talented youngsters in the UK and the winner will be presented with a pair of Vauxhall Corsa-shaped headphones as a price.

Competitors will take part in heats in London, Liverpool and Nottingham before a final at the O2 Islington Academy in London on 11 June 2011.

The Vauxhall Corsa now boasts a redesigned grille and headlamps and the a 1.3-litre CDTi 95Ps ecoFLEX model, which brings down CO2 emissions to 98g/km and offers a fuel economy figure of 76.3mpg for three-door versions.

Five-door versions will also fall under 100g/km, meaning free road tax and exemption from the London congestion charge – an important factor in a car aimed at urban buyers.
