Readers of BusinessCar voted the luxury car as the best business car on the market today less than 12 months after it first arrived in UK showrooms.
In a sector usually dominated by German manufacturers, the British-built Jaguar XJ was handed the award for ‘best helping customers through what’s been a tumultuous time for the industry’.
The award follows a number of similar honours for the XJ, including Scotland’s ‘Best Luxury Car 2010’ and an Allstar award at the Detrout Motor Show in the US.
Available in four models; Luxury, Premium Luxury, Portfolio and an high-performance Supersport, the Jaguar XJ starts from £55,500.
Engine choices, depending on the specification chosen, include a 3.0-litre diesel and 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine, which is supercharged for the Supersport variations.
The most popular model for business and fleet users in the UK, according to BusinessCar, is the 3.0-litre diesel in Premium Luxury specification, which starts at £59,300.
The car, which has been used Prime Minister David Cameron, is also available in short or long wheelbase versions.
Labelling the award a ‘huge thumbs-up from the industry’, BusinessCar Editor Paul Barke said they are: "A ringing endorsement from those that rely on the products and services to help run their business more efficiently."
The Jaguar XJ replaces the Audi A8 as the Luxury Car of the Year in the awards, finishing ahead of luxury models from BMW and Mercedes to take the top honour.
