The programme, which offers a range of specialist conversions for the Citroen van range, has dominated the award in recent years, as What Van? Editor Paul Barker explains.
"Citroën’s massively comprehensive Ready to Run range of converted light commercial vehicles is a real boon for operators that need a more specific vehicle than a standard van," he said: "The Ready to Run range of conversions has always been impressive, but the fact that Citroën has continued to develop it this year from what was an already award-winning position impressed the What Van? judges."
The Ready to Run scheme allows vans to be turned into car transporters, dropside trucks, minibuses, tippers and even freezer vans.
The scheme has been running for a number of years but is regularly updated to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Robert Handyside, Citroën’s Commercial Vehicle Operations Manager, said; "When Citroën launched the Ready to Run programme it was designed to be the most comprehensive and best of its type available in the UK. It is therefore very satisfying that this programme has, once again, won the prestigious What Van? One-Stop-Shop Award."
Vans such as the Citroen Nemo and Berlingo van can be used in the Ready to Run scheme, which is widely recognised as one of the best of its kind in the UK.
What Van? Editor Paul Barker said: "The entire industry deserves credit for the way it has progressed despite the very difficult market conditions, and it’s nice to be able to reward those we feel are top of the pile."
