Renault introduces sat-nav as standard

The Renault Clio, Kangoo, Megane, Scenic and Laguna have joined the New Master, Kangoo Van and Trafic Phase 3 in including the Carminat TomTom technology as standard.

The satellite navigation system will be available on Dynamique, Dynamique S, Privilege and Initiale trim levels from this month, Renault has announced.

Features on the satellite navigation include maps for 50 countries worldwide, IQ Routes technology and a lane guidance system.

The addition means popular cars such as the Clio and all-new Megane Coupe-Cabriolet will feature the technology at no extra cost.

Carminat estimates the system will cut road accidents by as much as 12 per cent and save fuel by reducing journey distances by up to 16 per cent.
