The results of Car (and van) awards seem to be released every week from a variety of sources. With the exception of the World Car of the Year awards, it is sometimes difficult to judge who exactly is deciding the winners, and whether there is a hidden agenda.
Not so the recent Auto Express awards, where 23,000 drivers completed a Driver Power Survey to determine the best cars in the industry. What better way to find the best car than by asking the people who drive them?
It was no surprise to see the Jaguar XF – winner of the customer reliability award last year – picking up the award in the Executive Car section. The XF was praised by drivers for its ‘performance, handling and ride comfort’.
Meanwhile, Citroen followed up success at the Commercial Vehicle Operators show with another award, this time for the Citroen C4 Picasso in the MPV category. The C4 Picasso won because of its clever design and impressive versatility, according to Auto Express.
The Land Rover Discovery, with its ‘great build quality’ was chosen as the best car for practicality and a good drive in the survey – something it has been known for since it was launched 21 years ago.
