With the release of the coupe-cabriolet Renault has completed its Megane line-up consisting of six body styles.
The most striking feature is the large, folding glass roof as seen on previous versions of the open-top Megane. The two-part electric roof folds away in 21 seconds at the press of a button. A fixed-glass deflector ensures draft-free driving at speeds of up to 90mph.
The Megane is available with seven petrol or diesel powertrain configurations. The dCi 110 DPF diesel model is equipped with a six-speed EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch) automatic transmission.
An electric power steering system has been refined and is more responsive than the outgoing model. The Coupe-Cabriolet boasts an all-new MacPherson-type front suspension for greater lateral rigidity.
Renault has employed solutions used in both the Renault Megane hatchback and Megane coupe such as an automatic electric parking break, automatic dual-zone climate control, cruise control, 3D sound system and TomTom navigation.
Safety features on the new Renault Megane CC are in keeping with the other body styles in the range. ABC, ESP and emergency brake assist comes as standard and the Coupe-Cabriolet features front and lateral air bags.
The Renault Megane Coupe-Cabriolet is manufactured alongside the Scenic and Grand Scenic in France and is the latest model to be introduced under the brand’s new signature, ‘Drive the Change’.
