Renault has supplied the 100th new Clio to a RED Driving School instructor – only eight months after the manufacturer signed a three-year deal to supply driving instructors of the fast-growing driver training organisation with the stylish hatchback.
Edinburgh-based Ross Cameron is the latest RED driving instructor to take advantage of the manufacturer-driven deal, acquiring his Flame Red turbodiesel Clio dCi 90 from Renault. Mr Cameron, 33, opted for the Clio Expression+ after the attractive package provided by Renault Finance offered significant benefits compared to his previous tuition vehicle.
Covering around 500 miles per week in his Clio and having a very busy diary that sees him teaching pupils from all across Edinburgh, the father-of-one is now also enjoying significant fuel cost savings due to the Renault’s impressive economy.
A RED driving instructor for nearly two years, Mr Cameron said: “The opportunity to make a sizeable saving each month was a major factor in my decision to choose the Clio, but it’s also an excellent car in which to teach people to drive.
“It’s very comfortable, straightforward to drive and my pupils love it. My younger students especially like the Clio’s looks and the level of standard equipment is good too, the Hill Start Assist feature being very welcome and really helping on lessons.”
Mr Cameron added: “I was quite surprised to hear I was the 100th RED driving instructor to take delivery of a new Clio and even though I’ve only had the car for a short time, I’ll definitely be staying with the Renault brand in future.”
Ian McIntosh, Chief Executive at RED, said: “We think that the Renault Clio is excellent and we are very pleased to be able to recommend it as a quality tuition vehicle to our instructors. We have also been pleased with the positive customer feedback about the Clio and it has been no surprise that the car has proven popular with both customers and instructors. Working with Renault on this important initiative for RED Driving School has been a pleasure and we look forward to growing our business together.”
Darren Payne, Sales Director of Renault Group UK, said: “We are delighted with our partnership with RED and we look forward to supplying many more Renault Clios to their driving instructors as they recognise the car’s many attributes and the value that our unique arrangement represents.”
The Renault Clio is priced from £11,145 on-the-road and offers fuel economy of up to 88.3mpg on the official combined cycle and CO2 emissions as low as 82g/km. As with all new Renault models, the Clio is covered by Renault4+ – a four-year warranty that offers unlimited-mileage cover in the first two years and then two further years of protection up to 100,000 miles. Renault 4+ also includes four years of Renault Assistance, comprising of 24 hours a day, 365 days a year assistance on the roadside and from home, national recovery and onward travel. European cover is also included for the first three years.
