Although most of us can only dream of finding a D-type Jaguar under the Christmas tree, tickets for the 2016 Donington Historic Festival will give the lucky recipient access to a paddock full of such iconic machinery.
Some 400 historic racing cars from the 1920s to the 1990s are due to converge on Donington Park over the Bank Holiday weekend of April 30th, May 1st and 2nd for three days of world-class motorsport, making tickets the perfect Christmas present for a historic racing enthusiast.
Advance discounted tickets for the Donington Historic Festival cost from just £21. In addition to all the on-track action and open-access race paddock, the event will feature spectacular live-action historic rally car demonstrations (just the thing for rally fans who yearn to see Group B machines burning rubber), an open-access rally paddock, infield displays from dozens of car clubs, historic karting demos and a trade village full of automobilia, prints, books etc. Historic F1 cars will once again take to the track in a series of thrilling demonstrations and Festival visitors will also have the opportunity to visit the Donington Park Grand Prix Collection and the Wheatcroft Collection of historic military vehicles.
So, although you may not be able to delight a loved-one with a full-sized lightweight E-type or Chevron B8 this December 25th, Donington Historic Festival tickets will let them see – and hear – them in glorious action. A single-day advance discounted ticket costs £21 and a two-day ticket £34, while a three-day weekend ticket costs just £48 (on-the-gate prices will be £28, £45 and £65, respectively). Children aged under 16 are admitted for free. Advance discounted tickets can be bought via www.doningtonhistoric.com and through the 24-hour ticket hotline 0844 873 7355.
