The largest event of its kind, showcasing the most extensive display of vehicles for disabled people in the UK, ‘The Big Event’, is confirmed to return to EventCity, Manchester in 2016.
Free to attend, disabled people and their families will have the chance to explore all the ins and outs of motoring including a huge range of cars to test drive. The Big Event, hosted by the Motability Scheme, returns to Manchester’s EventCity on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 May 2016.
The flagship, two-day event will display more than 120 cars from around 30 of the leading manufacturers including Vauxhall, Ford, Nissan and Peugeot. A wide range of Motability Scheme products will be on display including 15 adaptation suppliers, 25 Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles as well as 40 scooters and powered wheelchairs.
Visitors also have the chance to get behind the wheel and experience test drives with professional driving instructors, in a wide selection of cars – giving visitors the unique opportunity to test drive a range of cars fitted with the most popular driving adaptations available on the Scheme. Visitors also have the chance to talk to Motability Scheme advisors and gather all of the useful information they might need from Scheme partners – Kwik Fit, RAC and RSA Motability – as well as advice from The Forum of Mobility Centres and Disabled Motoring UK.
Luke Snowden, One Big Day event manager at Motability Operations, said: “The Big Event in 2015 was a great success, we are excited to be returning to Manchester with lots of new plans to make next year’s summer programme the best yet. It is incredible to see the events going from strength to strength and to help such a large number of disabled people and their families find out more about getting mobile with the Motability Scheme is just fantastic.”
