The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) has announced that Lombard is the sponsor of its Annual Dinner, taking place on Tuesday 24 November 2015 at Grosvenor House on Park Lane, London.
Lombard has been supporting UK businesses for more than 150 years, offering a range of asset finance packages to companies of varying sizes, from SMEs to large multi-national corporates across an assortment of industry sectors. Jim Higginbotham, of Lombard, said, “Lombard has a proud history as a key supporter of the automotive industry and our commitment to this sector remains as strong as ever. It is critical to nurture innovation in order to stay at the forefront of the industry and Lombard is delighted to be associated with the SMMT and help businesses transform innovation into commercial reality.”
Nick Robinson, broadcaster and the BBC’s former Political Editor, who will present BBC Radio 4’s Today Programme from the autumn, will be making the keynote speech at the event, while SMMT’s President, Gareth Jones, Managing Director of ebm-papst Automotive and Drives (UK) Ltd, will make an address on the industry.
Gareth Jones said, “I’m thrilled to be attending my first SMMT Annual Dinner as President. It’s a key networking date in the diary at an exciting time for UK automotive, as well as a great opportunity to celebrate the successes of the year with industry colleagues”.
The winners of SMMT’s Award for Automotive Innovation 2015, run in partnership with the Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC), sponsored by GKN and supported by The Times; and the Autocar Courland Next Generation Award will be announced during the evening’s proceedings. Last year’s Dinner brought together more than 1,000 senior representatives from across industry, government and media for an evening of networking and discussion.
