Three Renault ZOE models have officially joined the fleet at the TAG Farnborough Airport, Europe’s leading business aviation airport.
As part of the airport’s strategy to reduce its carbon footprint and increase eco-friendliness, the all-electric ZOE models will be used to shuttle staff between buildings, including the main control tower.
Each award-winning ZOE will make a significant contribution to the airport’s effort to boost its sustainability, which extends from everything from waste management to energy usage and emissions.
Low running costs and zero emissions
Miles Thomas, environment manager at the airport, said: “We looked at all the electric vehicles on the market but only the ZOE ticked all our boxes. The car offers the low running costs and zero emissions and it’s also small, functional, simple and enjoyable to drive and has an impressive range.”
He added: “The reaction of our staff to the three ZOEs has been fantastic and very positive. People are enjoying driving them and we’ll definitely be looking to add more EVs to our fleet as a result.”
A spacious five-door family hatch, the Renault ZOE offers all the practicality of a regular car but with an all-electric powertrain for super-economical driving.
Able to cover up to 130 miles on a single charge, a new long-range version of the ZOE was announced last year, which will boost range to as much as 149 when it’s released this summer.
The ZOE can be charged in as little as half an hour when using a fast charger, and Renault is also currently the only manufacturer which offers to fit a 7kW wall charger to your home for free.
Three trim levels are available, with a wide range of technology and equipment, which includes creature comforts like smartphone-controllable climate control and sat-nav functions.
Ben Fletcher, Renault UK’s electric vehicle product manager, said: “Every day more and more fleet operators are discovering the benefits of Renault electric vehicles.
Available to buy now, priced from £13,443
“The ZOE is a practical, spacious and well-equipped family car but its innovative electric technology means it can offer incredible savings in running costs and whole life costs as well as making a real impact on a business’ carbon footprint.
“Drivers love them too, as evidenced by the ZOE’s performance in the Auto Express Driver Power Survey 2015, and that makes the model a win-win for fleet operators and families,” he added.
Available to buy from Perrys Renault dealerships now, the Renault ZOE is priced from £13,443 when opting for a battery leasing deal or £18,443 outright, taking the government electric vehicle grant into account.
