Ford has introduced two new special editions for its Ford Ka city car range, the exclusive Black and White Editions.
Offering a sophisticated and more personal design, each model is available with either black or white bodywork, plus exclusive white interior detailing to create a fresh and classic look.
According to Ford, the new special editions have been designed to reflect fashion and technology trends, with pure, uncomplicated and minimalist styling to appeal to image-conscious buyers.
‘Timeless chic 1960s style’
John McLeod, Ford Europe’s chief designer for vehicle personalisation, said: “Black and white is a timeless combination that evokes thoughts of chic 1960s style, and now inspires the design of products from consumer electronics to training shoes.”
“We’ve used that simple combination to deliver a distinctive Ka interior with a charismatic twist,” the designer added.
Alongside the Midnight Black or Crystal White body colours, the new Ford Ka Black and White Editions are available with an optional body-coloured spoiler, with black 16-inch alloy wheels as standard.
On the inside, both models feature a unique contrasting design with bespoke black seat trim with white detailing on the seam stitching, headrests and the sides of the seat bases.
White stitching also features on the leather steering wheel, handbrake and gear shifter, while the steering wheel spokes, centre console and door handle feature a Pearl White finish.
Ford has also upped the specs for the range-topping Titanium trim, with heated front seats and a panoramic roof, plus rear parking sensors, new 16-inch alloys and a black painted grille.
Both of the Ka Black and White Editions are offered with a 1.2-litre Duratec petrol engine, which can deliver as much as 57.6mpg with CO2 emissions of only 115g/km for cheap road tax.
The marque also announced a range of updates for the Fiesta range, with the 138bhp version of the 1.0-litre EcoBoost that features in the Fiesta Red and Black Editions now available on the standard Zetec S range.
Updates for the Fiesta range too
Attached to the Fiesta, this version of the EcoBoost is the most powerful 1.0-litre engine in the world, with a power-per-litre ratio greater than that of the Bugatti Veyron.
All Fiesta models from the Style trim upwards now received LED daytime running lights as standard, while two new colours are available in the form of a metallic grey and vibrant clear-coated red.
Pricing has yet to be announced for the new Ford Ka Black and White Editions, but it’s expected that more will be revealed in the next few months.
