The first official footage of the supercar chase scene from the latest James Bond film has been unveiled in a new video blog.
First released on official Bond website 007.com, the video offers the first glimpse at the battle between Bond’s Aston Martin DB10 and the incredible Jaguar C-X75 supercar.
Spectacular high-octane chase
Taking place on the streets of Rome and the banks of the river Tiber, the spectacular high-octane chase scene will be one of the key moments of the film, thanks in no small part to the amazing cars.
Of the exclusive DB10, director Sam Mendes, said: “I love the idea of this fantastic car being in a one-on-one battle with another incredible car from Jaguar, which is similarly extraordinary actually.
“So it’s a cat-and-mouse game through the night time streets of Rome, at great speed, between two of the fastest cars in the world.”
While the DB10 is a real head turner, it’s the C-X75 which has got people talking the most, with its metallic orange finish and 500bhp supercharged V8 engine.
First unveiled in 2011, the hybrid C-X75 was developed alongside the Williams Formula One team, but shelved at the last minute due to the effects of the global financial crisis.
500bhp Jaguar C-X75
Powered by a 1.6-litre supercharged petrol engine in conjunction with two powerful electric motors, Jaguar claimed that it could do 0-62mph in three seconds, with a top speed of at least 200mph.
Previously rumoured to be the car driven by the film’s villain Franz Oberhauser, played by Christoph Waltz, it instead appears that it will be the ride of choice for Dave Bautista’s henchman Mr Hinx.
Speaking from the set, Bautista said: “It’s amazing. It’s one of those scenes that’s going to be very iconic.
“Just with the two cars racing through the streets of Rome – I mean, how often do you see that? It’s one of those things you only see in a James Bond film.”
In total, Jaguar Land Rover has supplied three vehicles which will appear on-screen in SPECTRE. Alongside the C-X75 the new Range Rover Sport SVR will also feature, along with a specially-modified Defender known as the Big Foot.
Featuring massive 37-inch off-road tyres, custom suspension and enhanced body cladding, the Big Foot vehicles have already wrapped filming on the snowy slopes of Austria, alongside the SVR.
This will mark the second appearance of the Defender in recent Bond films, after the Defender 100 Double Cab Pick Up was featured in the opening scene of the previous instalment, Skyfall.

Jaguar also has a long history of supplying cars for the movies, after the XJ8 and XJR appeared in the 2006 version of Casino Royale, and Die Another Day starred the now-famous machine gun-equipped XKR.
SPECTRE is due for release in November this year, while both Jaguar and Land Rover’s full range of cars is available to buy from Perrys dealerships now. In the meantime, check out the video below!
