Jaguar F-TYPE Coupe scoops trio of awards this month

The Jaguar F-TYPE Coupe has boosted its already enviable portfolio of accolades by picking up an incredible total of three major awards this month alone.

Having been crowned the Best New Car at the Automotive Management Awards, the F-TYPE Coupe was also named Sports Car of the Year in the Awards.

Rounding off the triple success for Jaguar’s premium two-seater sports car, the F-TYPE was also named Coupe of the Year at the UK Car of the Year awards, which took place last night.

Three awards in February alone

Going up against models like the Mercedes C-Class and the Audi TT, Automotive Management rated the F-TYPE above all of its rivals thanks to its “pulse-quickening performance and agile handling”.

Besides its blistering driveability, the judging panel also noted the F-TYPE Coupe’s remarkable everyday refinement, as well as its value for money compared with its direct rivals.

Likewise, the judges at the UK Car of the Year Awards announced how impressed they were with its styling, performance and handling. Alex Goy, one of the Awards judges, said: “To see the F-TYPE Coupé is to like it, to drive it is to love it.”

Finally, the industry experts and judges at the awards praised the F-TYPE for its “stunning performance and most of all, its exhaust note” from the Coupe’s range of engines.

Jaguar says that there’s still more to come from the F-TYPE range throughout the rest of the year, with the introduction of new options, including manual gearboxes and all-wheel drive.

The updated and expanded F-TYPE range now features a total of 14 models, and also comes with updated features like all-new electric power steering as standard and an upgraded InControl infotainment system.

New all-wheel drive options

Offered as an option in 375bhp V6 S models and in the 543bhp V8-powered R range, Jaguar says that the new all-wheel drive system has been designed with pure, raw performance in mind.

As a result, F-TYPE models equipped with four-wheel drive shave 0.2 seconds off the standard model’s 0-60mph time, able to sprint to 60mph from a standstill in as little as 3.9 seconds.

Each of the all-wheel drive F-TYPEs also come with a new Intelligent Driveline Dynamics system, which constantly monitors wheel torque and automatically adjusts each wheel for optimum traction.

Available to buy now, prices for the F-TYPE range start at £57,735 for the standard V6 convertible, while the all-wheel drive options are priced from £66,900 for the V6 S Coupe model.
