Citroen has added a new options pack for its multi award-winning Nemo van, the Grip Control option pack.
Costing £630 over the Nemo’s list price, the pack will be available to order from next month with all Citroen Nemo vans equipped with the 74bhp HDi diesel engine and manual transmission.
Boosting the Nemo van’s capabilities, the comprehensive Grip Control pack includes new raised suspension, pack-exclusive tyres and an intelligent traction control system.
New traction control system
The new system has been designed to improve the van’s traction on slippery, low-grip surfaces. When it detects a loss of surface adhesion, it automatically transfers power to the wheels with best grip.
Activated by a dash-mounted button, the traction control function works at speeds of up to 18mph, and then automatically deactivates when the Nemo finds its feet and picks up speed.
Citroen has also thrown in a new protection tray to protect underneath the engine, plus new front and rear mud flats, door sill protection and a cab floor covering that can easily be washed clean.
Jeremy Smith, Citroen’s head of commercial vehicles, said: “The availability of the new Grip Control option pack will further increase the versatility of the Citroën Nemo van.
“This competitively priced option provides the Nemo with the enhanced traction capability to meet most operators’ off-highway requirements.”
He added: “A Nemo van specified with the Grip Control option will be an exceptionally economical and low cost alternative to a larger, more expensive to run, 4×4.”
Currently one of the most economical vans in Britain, the Citroen Nemo also offers the highest payload and greatest load space volume in its compact city van segment.
Multi award-winning van
In its time, it has also won an impressive amount of awards, including having been named the Best Light Van by Van Fleet World and Best City Van at the Business Van of the Year Awards.
The 1.3-litre 74bhp diesel engine is highly efficient, with CO2 emissions of only 119g/km and an impressive fuel economy of 62.8mpg on the combined cycle.
Its record load compartment measures in at a massive 2,500 litres, which can be expanded to as much as 2,800 litres thanks to an innovative sliding passenger seat, which is fitted as standard.
Citroen’s Nemo van is available to buy now, with prices starting from just £8,675, while the new Grip Control pack will be available to specify from March onwards.
