Fiat has opened the order books for the new Fiat 500X Opening Edition model, a limited-edition version of the marque’s stylish new crossover.
Only 500 models will be built in total, with 325 examples of the sophisticated ‘City Look’ version and just 175 rugged all-wheel drive ‘Off-Road Look’ examples available to buyers.
The carmaker says that as well as offering an attractive alternative to the regular 500X, the Opening Edition models will also feature a range of extra kit for no extra cost.
In addition to its comprehensive regular equipment list, the front-wheel drive City Look Opening Edition model will feature an exclusive Art Grey finish and larger 18-inch alloy wheels.
As well as that, it also receives Fiat’s Safety Pack, which includes features like lane and blind spot assists , a reversing camera and emergency braking.
Each City Look edition also comes with a Comfort Pack, which includes keyless entry and start features, plus a front armrest, tinted rear windows and special Opening Edition badging.
Powered by a 1.4-litre 138bhp MultiAir II engine, all in all the 4×2 Opening Edition model is priced from £17,595, the same price as the Pop Star 500X model on which it’s based.
Fiat is also offering the 4×4 Off-Road Look Opening Edition model, which is available with a nine-speed automatic transmission as standard and a tri-coat Amore Red finish.
Like the front-wheel drive version, it also includes a long list of extra equipment like a black leather interior with red trim, plus steering-mounted paddle shifters and the same exclusive badging.
Other touches to the all-wheel drive 500X Opening Edition includes high-intensity headlamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, plus a 3.5-inch TFT colour display and 6.5-inch UConnect infotainment system.
Priced for £25,845 the 4×4 Fiat 500X Opening Edition reportedly comes with an additional £2,850’s worth of extra equipment at no extra cost to the buyer.
The regular version of the 500X, meanwhile, is currently also available to order, with prices for the entry-level model beginning at just £14,595.
Order books for all models are now open, and first deliveries of the Fiat 500X crossover range are expected to begin from May this year.
