Perrys win two awards at this year’s highly prestigious Car Dealer Magazine Used Car Awards.
The national dealership was named the Used Car Dealer Group of the Year and took home the award for Social Media User of the Year along with making the shortlist for the Used Car Dealer Website of the Year award.
Now in their third year, the Used Car Awards have gone on to be some of the most prestigious and sought-after awards in the British automotive industry, and an important date in dealers’ calendars.
Car Dealer editor Colin Channon made a special point of noting that the human side of a car dealership is just as important as the cars it sells.
He said: “Selling cars is a people business, people buy from people, and we have a number of categories that celebrate those who are at the absolute top of their game in this field.”
Used Car Dealer Group of the Year
In order to choose the winner of the hotly-contested Used Car Dealer Group of the Year, judges used mystery shoppers to examine the consistency and service of multiple dealerships and multiple platforms across digital and physical locations from nominated groups.
As well as that, judges also closely examined their websites and the quality of their adverts, with Perrys coming out on top despite tough competition from its rivals.
Ray Sommerville, Managing Director, was pleased with the result: “At Perrys we pride ourselves on the professional approach we take to used car retailing, which complements our new car departments.
“Accurate stock profiling with vehicles prepared to a high standard, coupled with industry-leading marketing, have produced another record year for sales.
“This award is great recognition for the hard work our team has put into building a great used car business.”
The judges stated that each of the dealerships investigated “performed excellently” with top-quality service. They also praised both the Perrys website and the company’s social media performance, which was described as “second to none”.
Social Media User of the Year
As a result of that, Perrys was also awarded the Social Media User of the Year award on the night, which is designed to celebrate dealers that work hard online.
Perrys has previously topped Car Dealer’s list of the Top 100 Most Influential Dealers on Twitter, putting the company in pole position for the prize.
To find the winner, judges analysed the quality and frequency of updates on social media platforms, as well as the size and amount of engagement and interaction from followers.
Despite competition from rivals Perrys was the clear winner in the group, standing head and shoulders above the rest. The judges said: “The firm constantly posts engaging tweets, its Facebook page is well cared for and relevant and its video output is second to none.”
Receiving the award, Perrys’ Digital Marketing Manager Lee Manning said: “This is a fantastic achievement for the group. Our dealerships have completely taken to social media, and it’s great for them to receive this prestigious Car Dealer award for their hard work and enthusiasm.
“Facebook, Twitter and YouTube have been a huge part of our digital marketing strategy for over a year now. Using these channels we’ve made huge strides in showcasing the culture of Perrys and adding value to the user’s journey in a hugely personal way.
“It’s the engagement from our followers that has allowed our social audiences to grow, so many thanks to everyone who is a member of our online communities.”
The double victory at this year’s Car Dealer Magazine Used Car Awards adds two more trophies to Perrys already extensive list of accolades.
Previously, Perrys has won the eBay Motors Dealer Group of the Year award, and has been named National Dealer Group of the Year by Motability Operations.
