Jaguar has created a series of special edition Jaguar XE models in conjunction with designer Stella McCartney.
Designed to coincide with Paris Fashion Week, which starts next Monday, the exclusive models will also preview the global debut of the XE at this year’s Paris Motor Show.
The special XE models have been dressed in the same superhero-inspired print that features on Stella’s spring 2015 collection, and will take to the streets of Paris next Monday to promote the new model.
Stella said: “Jaguar is a British brand that’s full of heritage, charm and one that I’ve admired for years so it’s a pleasure to be finally working directly with them.
“It was interesting to adapt my playful superhero print for the XE, adding a feeling of empowerment to its exhilarating design – I can’t wait to see it on the streets of Paris.”
Jaguar Land Rover has a history of working with some of the highest names in fashion, including a collaboration with Victoria Beckham on a special edition of the Range Rover Evoque.
Unveiled in London
The long-awaited XE model was officially unveiled in London earlier this month, with prices for the entry-level model to start from around £27,000.
Only the range-topping XE S model was revealed at the London debut, before the curtain is lifted on the rest of the range in Paris next month.
With a prominent front grille complete with large intakes and LED headlights, the XE S cuts a sporty profile on the road, looking like a smaller and sleeker version of the XF model.
An eight-inch touchscreen infotainment console is centred in the middle of the cabin, while upholstery options for the XE S appear to include black and red two-tone leather.
There’s also a jet fighter-inspired heads up display, which projects driver information directly onto the windscreen, plus a range of safety features including adaptive cruise control and autonomous braking.
The XE S will be powered by the same 3.0-litre V6 engine that features in the F-Type Coupe, which produces 335bhp and will take the XE S from 0-60mph in just 4.9 seconds. Top speed for the XE S, meanwhile, will be an electronically-limited 155mph.
Power for the rest of the range will come from Jaguar’s new range of super economical Ingenium engines, the first of which will be a 2.0-litre four cylinder diesel.
According to Jaguar, this unit will produce 161bhp but with CO2 emissions as low as 99g/km, making the XE the most fuel-efficient Jaguar model ever produced and free from road tax.
