Prices and specs for new Leon X-PERIENCE released

SEAT has confirmed the pricing and specifications for the new Leon X-PERIENCE crossover estate.

The latest addition to the popular Leon lineup, the X-PERIENCE aims to bridge the gap between rugged off-road capability and the practical appeal of the regular Leon ST.

SEAT’s newest addition will be available from £24,385 and orders can be placed from September 1st, with showroom launches expected in December.

Based on the standard Leon ST estate, the X-PERIENCE adds extra body cladding, a 4×4 drivetrain with permanent four-wheel drive and new trim options.

The ride height is also 15mm taller than the original Leon to give an off-road advantage, but it retains the 587-litre boot of the ST, which can expand to 1,470 litres with the rear seats folded.

Standing alongside Leon stablemates including the dynamic two-door Leon SC, the four-door standard Leon, the Leon ST estate and the high-performance Leon Cupra, SEAT claims that the X-PERIENCE is “the perfect companion for an individual, varied and active lifestyle”.

Exterior touches include integrated fog lamps, twin chrome tailpipes and large air intakes on the front, and it’s also equipped with all-road suspension for competence on all road surfaces.

Two trim levels are available: SE and SE Technology. Standard kit includes 17-inch alloy wheels and dark tinted rear windows, plus rear parking sensors.

The interior is equipped with dual zone climate control, a leather steering wheel with orange stitching that’s a nod to the rakish Cupra, plus front sports seats and Hill Hold Control.

SE Technology trim

For an extra £1,985, the SE Technology trim adds a 5.8-inch colour touchscreen, DAB digital radio and sat-nab, plus automatic headlights, wipers and dimming rear view mirror.

The range-topping SE Technology also benefits from unique LED headlights and taillights, plus electrically folding door mirrors and 18-inch alloy wheels, along with Alcantara upholstery for the seats.

An optional LUX package is also available an add-on for the SE Technology, which adds black leather upholstery, heated and electrically-adjustable seats, plus chrome roof rails for an additional £1,250.

Engine range

A variety of TSI petrol and TDI diesel engines will power the new range. The 182bhp 2.0-litre diesel is the most powerful of the lot and comes coupled with a direct-shift gearbox as standard that will do 55.3mpg and gives CO2 emissions of 133g/km.

The same engine is also available in a more frugal 148bhp format, but only with a six-speed manual gearbox and SEAT claims that economy for this engine will be 57.6mpg and emissions of 126g/km of CO2.

Paired with the all-wheel drive system, SEAT claims that the new X-PERIENCE will be one of the most modern and efficient cars  of its kind.

It comes with a newly developed multi-plate clutch and electronic controls that continually monitors the position of each wheel to compensate for any loss of traction.

Finally, individual options across trims include a panoramic sunroof, tow bars and a 125-watt surround-sound stereo system with ten speakers.
