Pebble Beach debut for new Jaguar Land Rover models

Jaguar Land Rover are to debut three new products at this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California.

The three vehicles designated for appearance are the new 542bhp Range Rover Sport SVR, which will make its global debut and the US version of the F-TYPE Project 7. Finally, a prototype of the new Jaguar Lightweight E-Type, of which only six customer models will be built, will also debut.

All three will be unveiled at the Jaguar Land Rover Thursday night kick-off party at the Pebble Beach and Tennis Club on August 14th.

The Pebble Beachweekend gathers the world’s top automotive collectors, aficionados and vintage racers for the celebration of great performance, heritage or luxury cars.

Special Operations division

Each of the new cars are from Jaguar Land Rover’s new Special Operations division, created to design and engineer custom and high-specification vehicles.

The new Lightweight E-type will be the first recreation courtesy of the division’s Jaguar Heritage team, which was created to recreate, service and restore historic vehicles and parts.

For many, the highlight of the weekend will be the debut of the American version of the F-TYPE Project 7, the fastest and most powerful road-going Jaguar model ever made.

The Project 7, with its 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine and specially designed light-weight aluminium bodywork, will debut at the kick-off party in an all-new Glacier White finish.

Land Rover’s full lineup will also be on display. Along with the Range Rover Sport SVR, the first model to come with the new SVR designation, Land Rover will also display the long-wheelbase Range Rover model, as well as the Range Rover Evoque Autobiography model and others.

SUV record

The Range Rover Sport SVR recently broke the SUV record for lapping the Nurburgring, becoming the fastest production SUV and fastest Land Rover ever.

Powered by an upgraded version of Land Rover’s 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine, the new powerplant has been tuned to deliver a 542bhp output, a 40bhp increase over the existing supercharged V8 derivative.

Handling characteristics on the SVR have likewise been refined and honed, thanks largely to the Nordschleife testing.

Guests present at the event will also have the opportunity to test-drive Land Rover’s latest model line up on an off-road course specially built for the Pebble Beach weekend.

The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance will take place on Friday 15th August to Sunday 17th, following the opening party on the Thursday.

Meanwhile, both the Range Rover Sport SVR and Lightweight E-type are still undergoing development prior to their release and full specifications are currently under wraps.
