Kia have supplied one of their popular Soul hatchbacks to the winner of this year’s McDonald’s FIFA World Cup Fantasy game.
An American user with the screen name Frip69 came out on top as the winner of this year’s World Cup Fantasy Football league, with 893 amassed at the end of the tournament.
Second place was taken by user CONDEY, who came in just three points behind the overall champion.
McDonalds FIFA World Cup Fantasy
The McDonalds FIFA World Cup Fantasy football kicked off early last month, with over one million registered players.
Picking a ‘fantasy’ team from all the players featured in the world cup, the league players battled it out online across seven rounds. However, just like the real world cup, there could be only one winner.
Brand New Kia Soul- First Prize
The grand prize was the brand new Kia Soul, and runners up also received prizes including Adidas football boots, replica shirts and signed captain’s armbands from the World Cup matches.
Released earlier this year, the all-new Soul is based on the chassis of Kia’s successful Cee’d model.
Available in five trim levels, the new Soul also comes with an impressive range of kit, including DAB digital radio, adjustable power steering and a tyre pressure monitoring system all as standard.
Keyless entry, air con and USB/smartphone connectivity also come as standard, while higher trim models add 17-inch alloy wheels, cruise control and a reversing camera, plus a premium sound system and integrated SatNav.
Engine choices include 1.6-litre petrol or turbodiesel options, both of which come with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard.
The 130bhp petrol option returns CO2 emissions of 158g/km plus a combined fuel economy of 41.5mpg. Meanwhile, the turbodiesel delivers 126bhp with 132g/km of CO2 and returns 56.5mpg combined, while it can also be specified with a six-speed automatic gearbox.
Using the manual gearbox the new diesel-powered Kia Soul is not just more efficient but also quicker, covering the zero to 60mph sprint in 10.8 seconds.
Prices for the new Kia Soul SUV start at £12,600 for the basic model. As for anybody who missed out on the Fantasy Football game this year, well, there’s always 2018…
