Renault are to release two special-edition exclusive versions of the Megane and Scenic for the summer season.
The new limited-edition models feature a host of extras, including a panoramic sunroom and tinted windows and Renault claim that they come equipped with around £1,000 worth of add-ons for half the price.
Rear parking sensors, special ‘Limited’ upholstery, badging and scuff plates, as well as electrically operated gloss black door mirrors are also all included as standard.
The limited edition trim is available across the board for the Megane Hatch, Sport Tourer and Coupe models and on all Scenic models with the exception of the Scenic XMOD crossover.
A range of three petrol and two diesel engines is available, including the 1.6-litre VVT 110, 1.2-litre Energy TCe 115 and Energy 1.6-litre dCi 130.
The special edition models are priced at only £500 above their standard Dynamique TomTom equivalents, with pricing for the limited-edition Megane starting at £18,250 and the Scenic starts from £19,865. Both are available to order now and deliveries will start in September.
In addition to the core list of kit, the limited-edition models also come with a range of extra options, including 17-inch Pragma alloy wheels and Renault’s R-link multimedia system which features navigation technology as well as a display with zooming and scrolling capability, and DAB digital radio.
The standard Renault Megane was updated for this year in order to bring the range closer in line with the current brand identity of other Renaults like the Clio and the ZOE.
It includes a larger and bolder Renault logo set against a gloss black background, new bumper, sculpted bonnet and vent grilles. On top of this are redesigned headlights and daytime running lights that stretch along the outer edges of the bumper.
The Megane trim levels not only get the updated look but an expanded equipment range to go with them with automatic dual zone climate control as standard on Dynamique TomTom trim with the R-Link multimedia system optional.
Engines for the 2014 Renault Megane range include a 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine with outputs of 109bhp or 128bhp. CO2 emissions for the Megane diesel start from just 90g/km.
Additionally, the updated Megane range is also available with a 109bhp 1.6-litre petrol unit and 113bhp TCe petrol while the top of the range Renaultsport Megane uses a 261bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
As well as that, Renault released the Scenic XMOD last summer, the first Scenic crossover-style car, which features stop-start technology and advanced traction control as standard, along with optional Electronic Dual Clutch transmission.
Engine options for the XMOD include a 1.6-litre VVT petrol unit and a 1.5-litre dCi diesel, both with 110bhp or a 1.2-litre TCe petrol unit with outputs of 115bhp or 130bhp.
Pricing for the standard Megane starts at £16,745 and £19,115 for the basic Scenic, while the Scenic XMOD starts from £20,355.
