Citroen Grand C4 Picasso earns MPV Tow Car Honour

The new Citroen Grand C4 Picasso has added yet another trophy to its cabinet, after being named Best MPV at the 2014 Tow Car Awards.

The Grand C4 Picasso was one of the record 56 entries contending this year’s Tow Car Awards. Each car was thoroughly tested by a judging team which included experts from Practical Caravan Magazine, The Camping and Caravanning Club and What Car? magazine.

Influencing which cars come out on top in the different award categories are four key attributes – towing, solo driving (without towing), practicality and buying and owning.

Citroen C4 Grand Picasso Awards

Since launching to the UK market back in January this year, the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso has picked up several prestigious accolades already. Previous victories include the Family Car of the Year title from Top Gear magazine, the Best Seven-seat People Carrier award from the 2014 Fleet News Awards and DieselCar Magazine’s Best MPV honour.

Now the Grand C4 Picasso has strengthened its reputation further as one of the best new family cars money can buy with this year’s Tow Car accolade.

The judging panel for this year’s Tow Car Awards commented: “As a people carrier, the Grand C4 Picasso has the lot – space for seven, flexible seating and plenty of storage space. The large glass area lets plenty of light in, too, making the Citroën a pleasure to travel in.”

The Communications Director at Citroen UK, James Parfett, said: “We’re thrilled that the Citroën Grand C4 Picasso has once again topped its class with this award. Family-friendly, comfortable and spacious, the Grand C4 Picasso is the ideal car for long caravanning adventures and provides excellent stability when towing, so we’re very pleased it has been recognised for these strengths in the Tow Car Awards.”

C4 Grand Picasso Prices

The Citroen Grand C4 Picasso currently starts pricing between £19,205 and £26,855. Despite measuring smaller compared to most average seven-seater MPVs, the new Grand C4 Picasso manages to be one of the most practical family cars in the current market.

Citroen’s Grand C4 Picasso also boasts a wide range of luxury kit and safety technology, plus some incredibly efficient engines.

The engine choice includes a basic 1.6-litre VTi petrol with 118bhp and a 1.6-litre THP petrol with 153bhp. Also available is an 89bhp 1.6-litre e-HDi which returns class-leading figures for efficiency, including a combined fuel economy of 74.3mpg and CO2 emissions of just 98g/km.

Standard equipment for the latest C4 Grand Picasso includes air conditioning, a six-speaker stereo and LED daytime running lights.
