The Mazda6 and CX-5 will lead the support fleet at Donington Park for the sixth consecutive year running.
The Japanese brand will provide Donington with 10 Mazda cars to provide a range of support roles including medical, safety and pace support on-track, as well as to transport VIP guests and senior managers to and from the circuit as part of their ongoing relationship with the racetrack.
Some of the models provided for the fleet will include the Mazda6 Tourer Sport Nav, the Mazda6 Saloon Sport Nav and the Mazda CX-5 Sport Nav Automatic.
The 2.2-litre Mazda6 Tourer Sport Nav looks stylish with its eagle-eye headlights and a sharp grille are the same as those on the saloon, as are the curvy front wings.
Under the bonnet, the 2.2-litre diesel engine with its slick six-speed gearbox and short-throw gearlever offers punchy performance, making quick bursts of acceleration a doddle and truly living up to its Sport designation.
The interior tech is second to none
The inside is similarly well-equipped with electric heated leather seats, sat-nav, a reversing camera, Bluetooth, auto lights and wipers, climate control and a Bose stereo all coming as standard and a dashboard with big buttons and a BMW iDrive-style controller located behind the gearlever that operates the 5.8-inch central display, which can be specified with TomTom sat-nav.
The Tourer’s Saloon cousin features much of the same equipment, including the 19-inch alloy wheels as standard and also packs a seriously strong 2.2-litre diesel engine with 173bhp that takes the Saloon from 0-60 in just under 8 seconds, with a top speed of 139mph.
Finally, the CX-5 Sport Nav Automatic also features a 2.2-litre diesel engine with 148bhp that pulls hard all the way to redline and offers a sprightly performance that feels more like a hatchback than a crossover. It comes complete with the BMW iDrive-style infotainment controller as well as a spacious boot and a back with spring-loaded seats that fold down almost flat.
SKYACTIV technology lowers emissions and reduces running costs
All the cars feature Mazda’s signature SKYACTIV technology that helps maintain efficiency and keeps emissions down and reduces fleet running costs as well as maximising performance, responsiveness and reliability.
