Renault achieves Fleet World Honours hat-trick

Renault has made a big impression at the 2014 Fleet World Honours, collecting three accolades at the ceremony held in London earlier this month. Victorious models include the Renault Clio, while the all-electric Renault Kangoo Van Z.E. scooped two accolades.

Renault Clio named Best Small Car

The Renault Clio has now been named Best Small Car at the Fleet World Honours for the second year in the row. The Kangoo Van Z.E., meanwhile, won the Environment Award in the Van Fleet World Honours, an accolade the Renault previously took back in 2012. The Kangoo Van Z.E. also took the Innovation award for this year.

Each year, the Fleet World Honours strive to recognise the best for innovation, quality and sustainability among the cars and suppliers operating in the UK fleet industry. These latest victories for Renault means that this is the sixth consecutive year the French manufacturer has celebrated a significant awards haul at Fleet World Honours.

At last year’s ceremony, as well as giving the Clio its Best Small Car award, Fleet World also awarded the all-electric Renault ZOE with its Technology award. The Renault Clio has done well to retain the Best Small Car and beat a large amount of strong competition in the process.

The editor at Fleet World magazine, Steve Moody, commented: “The Clio continues to be the best car in the supermini sector because it offers everything a driver of these type of cars wants. That means that it is not too expensive, has cheap to run petrol and diesel engines, enough space in the back and boot, and does it all with a dash of style too.”

Pricing for the Renault Clio range currently starts at £10,795.

The Renault Kangoo Van Z.E., meanwhile, offers incredibly low running costs to company van drivers and fleet operators across the country.

The editor at Van Fleet World, Dan Gilkes, said: “While there are other electric vans available, Renault has pioneered both the technology and the development of the necessary infrastructure to support these vans with Kangoo Z.E.

“Competitive pricing, ease of use, no loss of load capacity and a reasonable payload all contribute to make Kangoo Van Z.E. a viable alternative for van operators in an urban delivery environment.

“There are competitors…for now though Renault should be applauded for continuing to push the electric LCV agenda with a convincing, viable product like Kangoo Z.E.”

Pricing for the Renault Kangoo Van Z.E. currently starts at just £12,995. This final price takes into account the Government’s Plug in Van Grant which saves up to £8,000 on ultra low carbon vans.
